I woke up to the songs of Robins.
The sun wasn't quite up yet, so I lay in bed just listening.
Eventually other birds joined in....the Finches made the melody even more beautiful.
As the light from the sun spread across the sky like high tide coming in from the sea, I could hear the soft cooing of the Morning Doves.
It sounded like a train, in the distance, on a late summer's night.
The gentle song of the doves usually lulls me back to sleep for a little while longer.
This morning was one of those that you just wanted to stay awake, and bask in the glory of God's creation.
Even though there are troubles in our lives....He still gives us the peace that transcends all understanding....even if just for a moment in time as this morning.
My ears were filled with the songs of birds singing.
My eyes witnessed the sun breaking forth through the morning sky.
My sense of smell was filled with the fragrance of Lily of the Valley, resting on my bedside table.
My soul....the mind, will, and emotions....was filled with peace, and a moment of Joy.
Sometimes we go searching for happiness, when it's right there waiting for us, before our feet even hit the floor!!!Have a Blessed Day.
Debbie
Such a poetic post! And I do know what you mean about the birds. We live in a bird sanctuary in Florida but I think our condo with a balcony over a pond is also a bird sanctuary. This place is alive with ducks, geese, and nesting birds.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is! I had a moment like this yesterday morning, watching the sun come up from my bedroom window after being out on the deck listening to the birds. I decided to go back to bed since it was so early, and the sun popped through my window...I went back to sleep with my face turned toward the sun. It was awesome! Love your photos and your peace.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful Debbie! We wake up to the birds every morning and some frogs too:) I wake up with my husband very early, it's one of my favorites parts of the day! Your home looks so lovely and peaceful.
ReplyDeleteDebbie ~ isn't that what really matters in this life? Listening to the Heavenly Father through his creation. How He sends His little birds to wake us.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures were just as quiet and special as the birds singing. You've made my day!
What a beautiful post!! I love to wake up in the morning hearing the birds singing in my backyard. The flowers on your bedside table are so pretty!

Hi Debbie, The past few days have been just wonderful. When we do not have to have heat or AC. We can open windows and smell fresh air and hear the birds singing. I absolutely love summer mornings. Here's to more of this wonderful mornings and listening to God. Blessings dear friend, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteI just love listening and watching the birds too, Debbie! You are right, there is something peaceful about it, enjoying God's creation. We've been having lots of orioles in our yard and feeder, even the hummingbird's seem to prefer the oriole feeder over their own, so funny! Have a peace filled day, sweet friend:)
ReplyDeleteI love this post Debbie. The sounds of birds makes my heart sing, especially in the spring when they start arriving back here. Doves are my favorite. They are my reminder that the Lord loves me. When I hear one, I tell him back that I love Him. I love these early morning pictures of your home. The lighting is so soft and beautiful. Have a blessed day my friend.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful post my dear friend. I love mornings just for this reason. I lay in bed after waking and just think of all my blessings. It is the only way to start off a day I believe. I feel that letting God know how blessed we feel only brings more and more from Him.
