Have you ever felt totally drained?
Has a situation in your life squeezed every ounce of energy from your very soul?
(Your soul being your mind, will, and emotions.)
Yet circumstances make it necessary for you to keep going?
Naomi felt that way in the Book of Ruth.
Her husband, Elimelech, and their two sons Mahlon and Chilion died.
Naomi was left in Moab, a foreign country, with her two daughter inlaws.
When Naomi returned to her homeland, Bethlehem, with one of her daughter inlaws...Ruth, she was so bitter, she wanted people to call her Mara, the afflicted one.
It took Ruth's faithfulness in following Naomi, and believing in the God of her husband to turn things around.
Ruth stayed faithful in those difficult times.
She was obedient in the difficult places.
Even when Naomi felt she had come to the end of her fruitfulness....Ruth had come into the beginning of hers.
God turned their toil-scorched spirits into a well-watered garden of inspiration.
When you feel you've reached the end....Praise God for making things grow in barren places...even if you don't see the progress yet. Stay vigilant in prayer, asking Him to fill your spirit so you may glorify Him with excellent work.....whatever that may be.
THE LORD WILL GUIDE YOU ALWAYS; HE WILL SATISFY YOUR NEEDS IN A SUN-SCORCHED LAND...YOU WILL BE LIKE A WELL-WATERED GARDEN. ISAIAH 58:11 NIV.
Life has it's difficult places.
It is during those times that our only choice is to turn to God - and He does a marvelous work in us. In those difficult places, God wondrously makes us flourish.
THOSE WHO ARE PLANTED IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD SHALL FLOURISH IN THE COURTS OF OUR GOD. PSALM 92:13 NKJV.If you feel you are in a difficult place, you needn't go through channels to reach our Lord....dial direct!!! He's always available.
Love,
Debbie

Hi Debbie, your post is such an inspiration. Love your beautiful photos to go along with your important lesson. Difficult times teach us to lean on the Lord and give our burdens to him. Thank you for sharing and the blessing of your presence in blogland.

Beautiful words and beautiful images Debbie! Have a lovely week:)
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Debbie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Post and beautiful pictures !!! I am so thankful I have God to lean on!!
I do a lot of 'leaning', Debbie. This post came at the right time for me. I remember someone once saying that when you can't sleep, it means that it's your time to talk to God. I pray I learn the work that needs to be done.
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear lady.

Wonderful words from the Lord, reminders of His faithfulness to us. I love Naomi and Ruth's stories! Blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm totally drained and need a long rest. It is all good though as the past week was filled with having a family reunion here. All 7 of my children and most of my children together in one place at the same time. It was amazing! I haven't had that for over 10 years now and loved every moment. We were definitely blessed to have this time together. It was like a well watered garden for sure.
ReplyDeleteOh Debbie, this post could have been written for me. You know some of the difficulties that I have been facing. And I know you too have walked thru many, many of your own trials over the years. Thank you for speaking God's word, and for the gentle reminder that even when I can't see anything good about my current situation, I will try hard to trust the fact that God will bring something good out of it. Bless you, my sweet friend. And thank you again for your encouragement, it means more than you know!!
ReplyDeleteTimeless truth spoken with gentle love dear Debbie! Oh yes, the difficult times do come in our lives, but I have learned that it is in those very difficult moments that the Lord comes to me in such beautiful ways, and I have learned that trusting Him is always better than doubting, or complaining about my lot in life. Your pictures are incredible too! Many hugs sent to you today :)
